Charlie Kirk Posts Video Moments Before Being Shot at Utah Valley

Just moments before tragedy struck, conservative activist Charlie Kirk posted a video to his social media accounts from Utah Valley University, where he was hosting a campus event as part of his “American Comeback Tour.” The video, now viewed over 8 million times, shows Kirk standing under a white tent emblazoned with “Prove Me Wrong,” engaging with students in his signature debate format.

In the footage, Kirk appears upbeat and energized, greeting attendees and preparing for what was expected to be a lively Q&A session. Witnesses say the crowd was enthusiastic, with over 1,400 people RSVP’d for the event. But within minutes of the video being posted, chaos erupted.

At approximately 12:20 p.m. local time on September 10, a single gunshot rang out. Kirk jerked back, clutching his neck, and collapsed as stunned spectators screamed and scrambled for cover. The shooter, later identified as a 16-year-old student, fired from a rooftop roughly 200 yards away.

Kirk was rushed to a nearby hospital by private vehicle but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. The video he posted now serves as a haunting record of his final public moments.

Tributes poured in from across the political spectrum. President Donald Trump called Kirk “a martyr for truth and freedom” and ordered flags flown at half-staff until Saturday. Utah Governor Spencer Cox condemned the act as a “political assassination”.

As investigations continue, Kirk’s final video stands as a chilling reminder of the growing threat of political violence—and the fragility of public discourse in America today.
